ভূমিকা:

২৬শে মার্চ, আমাদের গর্বের স্বাধীনতা দিবস। ১৯৭১ সালে এই দিনেই, নয় মাসের রক্তক্ষয়ী যুদ্ধের পর, আমরা পাকিস্তানের শাসন থেকে মুক্তি পেয়ে স্বাধীন রাষ্ট্র হিসেবে আত্মপ্রকাশ করি। এই দিনটি আমাদের জাতির ইতিহাসে একটি অমলিন স্বর্ণালী অধ্যায়, যা বীরত্ব, ত্যাগ ও আত্মত্যাগের এক অমর কাহিনী বহন করে।

মুক্তিযুদ্ধের পটভূমি:

১৯৪৭ সালে ভারত বিভাজনের পর, পূর্ব পাকিস্তানে (বর্তমান বাংলাদেশ) শুরু হয় বৈষম্য ও নিপীড়নের এক অমানুষিক অধ্যায়। রাষ্ট্রভাষা বাংলার স্বীকৃতি, অর্থনৈতিক শোষণ, রাজনৈতিক অধিকার হরণ – এই সকল বিষয়ে পশ্চিম পাকিস্তানের শাসকগোষ্ঠী বাঙালிகে বঞ্চিত করে। তীব্র অসন্তোষ ও প্রতিবাদে ফেটে পড়ে বাংলার মানুষ। ১৯৭১ সালের ৭ মার্চ বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমান ঐতিহাসিক ৭ মার্চের ভাষণে স্বাধীনতার ঘোষণা দেন। এরপরই শুরু হয় মুক্তিযুদ্ধ, যা চলে নয় মাস ধরে।
